id based markers / e.g. artag

Hi,

I was playing with a package named artag (http://www.cv.iit.nrc.ca/research/ar/artag/) recently that uses an id based marker system (so there's not pattern recognition training). Has any thought been given to implimenting such a system in artoolkit? It's really amazing because you can obscure a large part of the tag without loss of tracking. And in general the tracking is considerably smoother/more consistent.

Hi,

Yes we would like to integrate ID-based markers, and have had such a package submitted to our lab here by a generous contributor. At the moment it is just awaiting the resources to integrate it cleanly. Until then, you can experiment with it yourself.
