displaying shadows?

Hi All,

I really am enjoying playing around with BuildAR. My question is this: does the program have the ability to display shadows from the virtural object on screen?

any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

Hi Zach,

Currently BuildAR does not do realtime shadows. Your best option would be to "bake" the shadows in your 3D program of choice.

Here is a tutorial (with video) on how to do this in 3DS Max. Although this tutorial is for another program (Vizard rather than BuildAR), the steps should be the same: http://kb.worldviz.com/articles/1222

I am investigating realtime shadows for the next release of BuildAR, so maybe this feature will be available shortly.

I'm very newbie in artoolkit and the first person in my university doing research in AR. I currently doing my project on shadow in AR but i don't have any tutorial to create shadow in AR using ARToolkit. Do you have some tutorial about how to create shadow in ARToolkit..
