Niels is a Postdoctoral Fellow working on colour CT image reconstruction with the MARS project. His background is in Mechatronic and Bio-Engineering, specialising in medical imaging. His primary expertise ranges from visualisation,  to image processing, to communications for medical data and images. Other professional interests include bionics, and prosthetics.

Other hobbies and interests include soccer, badminton, hiking, and cooking.
