Accessible ARFrom HIT Lab NZ
Large progress have been reached over the last years in Augmented Reality (broader range of tracking algorithms, better registration algorithms, more versatile interactive techniques). However, the step to bring them from the laboratory to the end-users reveals a large number of difficulties. Towards this FRST funded project, we aimed to leverage these constraints to bring the technology to the end user. We are targeting 3 relevant areas: Education, Entertainment and Engineering. Complimentary, a large part of the project is focusing on mobile platform (smartphone, PDA or UMPC), largely financially accessible (and evolving) technology by the public nowadays.
