Past Student
Alastair Hampshire is a visiting research assistant from the Mixed Reality Laboratory at the University of Nottingham in the UK. His PhD thesis explored the issues surrounding mobile and intermittently connected devices which interact over the grid, a wide area distributed computing infrastructure.
Alastair’s current research interests include toolkit support for AR authoring and tangible interaction with AR applications, infrastructure support for the creation of ubiquitous computing experiences and installations, pervasive gaming and computer visualisation of astronomical data.
In his spare time Alastair is an enthusiastic mountaineer, tramper and rock climber.
