Amanda started her career at Apple Computer 15 years ago in the Advanced Technology Group. While at Apple, she worked on the interaction design for many different emerging technologies such as multimedia kiosks, touchscreens, speech recognition and gesture input. She went on to form her consulting business, Zanzara, which has helped many different types of technology companies make their products easier to use.
Technology products that she worked on range from educational software to complicated IP address databases to PDAs and digital cameras. She has sat next to thousands of users of technology through her usability testing, has published articles on usability and interaction design and has 5 US patents.
Her current research interests are tangible interfaces, using technology to create immersive experiences in museum spaces and interfaces for emerging technologies. She has a BA in English Literature and a Masters in Computer Science from the US.
When not working she loves spending time exploring New Zealand with her Kiwi husband and four children.
