Anders is back at the HIT Lab as a programmer after successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis in Media Technology at Linköping University in Sweden. His focus has been on Augmented Reality on mobile phones, an area he pioneered when porting ARToolKit to Symbian in 2004. His previous visits to HIT Lab NZ have resulted in AR Tennis, winner of the 2006 International Mobile Gaming Awards, as well as a the first mobile AR advertising campaign, developed together with Saatchi&Saatchi.

His research interests are mobile phone AR, mobile computer graphics and computer vision, camera-based interaction and Ubiquitous Computing. At the HIT Lab NZ, Anders hopes to explore the great potential of the mobile phone AR as a human-world interaction tool and to further advance the areas of mobile gaming and advertising.

When not working, Anders enjoys watching football, and he is always reading books. During his stay in New Zealand, he hopes to enjoy as much as possible of the nature and do adrenaline sports.
