Prof. Andreas Siebert teaches HCI and image processing at the University of Applied Sciences at Landshut, near Munich, Germany.
He got his master degree from the University of Georgia, USA, and his PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada. In between, he worked for the German Aerospace Center and for Bertelsmann Media Systems.
In a joint project with Metaio Augmented Solutions, Andreas has done some work on marker based and markerless tracking that he likes to expand during his six months sabbatical at the HIT Lab NZ.
Outside the lab, Andreas can usually be found in the Alps -- on backcountry skis in winter, on a mountain bike in summer. He heard rumors that New Zealand was created by the same guy who designed British Columbia and Norway, and he is really keen to check out the truth behind it."
