Jon comes from China, and has been in New Zealand since 2002. He finished his bachelor's degree at the University of Canterbury. From 2007, he has worked on his master’s thesis at HITLab.
Jon’s interests include 2D,and 3D computer graphics and animation. He has had some work experience which involved designing and creating a training course in flash, developing a face recognition and warping system for mobile phones using C++, and developing a multimedia tool based on Macromedia Flash.
While at the lab part of Jon’s thesis is to implement Java on mobile phones for Augmented Reality - basically looking into J2ME for image capture and processing, and developing some sample mobile AR applications based on Java.
