MinKyung has just begun her PhD in Computer science. Her research will focus on 3D vision-based hand gesture which allows users to have natural and effective input for collaborative AR interfaces. When interacting with real objects, people typically use gestures. Thus, gesture based interaction should also be a very intuitive way to interact with AR content, especially if it is based on nature free-hand gestures. Her research interest includes Human-Computer Interaction, Vision-based interface and Augmented Reality.
She completed her B.E. at Kyung Hee University, and M.S. in U-VR Lab at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology with Augmeneted Reality Keyboard System. From February to June 2005 MinKyung was a visiting student in the Mixed Reality Lab in Singapore. She worked with Dr. Park and Dr. Cheok for a vision-based interface of the AR Laser system.
In her spare time, she loves to go swimming. MinKyung hopes to have more time to learn new sports while in New Zealand.
