Nate is a Ph.D. student at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. His Ph.D. research is in the field of Computer Vision and focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of image understanding with applications in Augmented Reality.
Nate completed his military service in Israel as an academic officer in an elite software development unit. He led GIS (Geographic Information Systems) projects focusing on effective computing methods and simulation systems. After his military service, he worked as the R&D manager at BestTV, a leading IPTV company providing online video middleware solutions.
Nate likes going outdoors, exploring cultures and learning languages. He especially enjoys the Chinese language and Chinese history. During his stay in New Zealand he plans to enjoy the marvelous scenery of the South Island.
Nate’s research interests are in the fields of Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and Computer Vision. Nate most enjoys identifying new problems and inventing creative approaches for them.
