Raphaël is a senior research scientist at the HIT Lab NZ.
Raphaël joined the lab in June 2004, after finishing his Phd in Computer Science at Joseph Fourier University (Grenoble, France). His Phd focus was on new collaborative augmented reality environment in tabletop meeting situation. Previously, he did a MSc at INPG (Grenoble, France) around the concept and characteristics of collaborative augmented reality games. After 3 years of post-doctorates at the lab, he is now a senior research scientist.
His actual research interests include: 3D Interaction (with a special interest on TUI), Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality, Visualization, Videoconferencing (CSCW). Beyond his technical skills, his competences are in computer human interaction (CHI), computer graphics, computer vision, user evaluation.

Raphaël's personal interests include traveling, interacting with people from different origins as discussing about globalization. During his spare time in New Zealand he has been exploring the country, hiking, surfing, snowboarding, and bungee jumping.
