The HIT Lab NZ (hitlabnz.org) at UC will be hosting the June monthly meeting of the Christchurch Game Developers Meetup (www.meetup.com/The-Christchurch-Game-Development-Meetup/).

The event will take place on 15 June (Thursday) at the HIT Lab NZ in the John Britten Building, 2 Engineering Road (corner of Creyke & Engineering roads) from 6-9pm.

In addition to the standard Chch Game Dev intro and announcements, we will give a short intro to Virtual and Augmented Reality, a brief intro to the new UC Engineering Bachelor of Product Design in Applied Immersive Game Design (launching in 2018), and an overview of the HIT Lab NZ.

This will be followed by a large number of demos set up in the Lab for attendees to try. These include our multisensory VR system (coordinated visual, audio, haptic vest, floor vibration, and wind feedback), our new VR Pit (270-degree surround screen for things like vehicle simulators), AR Spider Phobia system, Quiver AR Colouring pages (www.quivervision.com), and much more.
