VR Skiing Simulation for Olympia delle Tofane – Milano Cortina 2026
2025-2026
Project Summary
This project built a 3D virtual representation of the Olympia delle Tofane course used as the location for the women’s Alpine skiing and Paralympic Alpine Skiing events at the Winter Olympics and Paralympics 2026.
The 3D virtual representation was based on course schematics, land topography, satellite imagery and video footage. Using the 3D virtual representation, athletes and coaches of the Japanese team experienced the Alpine downhill course using VR headsets.
The goal of the VR simulation was to provide an immersive, first-person experience for visual landmark and familiarity training, to trial course routes, and identify visual cues from a first-person VR experience.
